Greentree Montessori’s 30th Anniversary Celebrations Special Guest Speaker: Mr Lee Yeong Wen and Ms Rachel Lim

As Greentree Montessori celebrates its 30th year of service to the community, we are honoured to have invited Mr Lee Yeong Wen and Ms Rachel Lim as guest speakers at our celebrations. Mr Lee Yeong Wen began his dance training in ballet, followed by contemporary dance. Since graduating from Arizona State University with an Outstanding Graduate Student Creative Work Award and a Distinguished Teacher Award, he has continued his practice and sharing of dance/movement in diverse environments. As a key facilitator at various dance & movement workshops internationally, Mr Lee has earned an impressive following from his works with and within international communities. In Singapore, he is an adjunct faculty member at NAFA teaching improvisation and contact improvisation. Ms Rachel Lim Hue Li started working with Mr Lee in 2017. A performer herself, Ms Lim started her career doing Mascot live shows for children. An accomplished self-taught photographer, Ms Lim specializes in theatre performance photography and has recently had her photographs published by local media in Singapore. Since working together, Mr Lee Yeong Wen and Ms Rachel Lim has co-facilitate well-loved workshops which include workshops at O’Joy Care Center (part of the Health Oriented Ageing programme), Greentree Montessori (weekly Creative Movement & Dance Sessions), Memories Cafe (a monthly programme organised by Alzheimer’s Disease Association for people with dementia) and Dance For Joy (a pilot programme organised by Esplanade for people with Autism). In this video, Mr Lee Yeong Wen and Ms Rachel Lim speaks to us about the beauty of using dance as a language to communicate and work with children and how it answers the theme of our celebrations, which is “to fulfil every child’s only childhood”. We would like to extend our gratitude to Mr Lee Yeong Wen and Ms Rachel Lim for their treasured friendship and support towards Greentree Montessori through the years. We are also grateful to them for giving us their time and a rare glimpse into their wonderful work with children and the community.

Let us welcome our Alumni!
