Greentree young initiator community encourages Total Development of the whole child. The environment conforms to the physical needs of the children, both in the size of the furnishings and in the opportunities for motor development.

This is the stage where our early learners are most active. Development of Movement lays the foundation for the total development of a young child. With our designed Practical Life Skill Exercises, they develop sense of order, concentration, co-ordination and independence. With special coaching of the activities like care of self, care of environment, care of plants and animals, and grace and courtesy, our early learners will develop a positive personality.

Young Explorer with initiative

Materials and Activities in our prepared environment are authentic to serve the purpose of "calling the child". Self-motivated tasks or the more commonly known, one to one self-directed exercise will be initiated daily by the children. With the practice of Respect and Freedom, young children develop a sense of self esteem and self confidence. Our program allows young initiators the opportunity to learn about themselves and their world through experiences, choices and interaction with other as well as with adults who respect them. We set appropriate limits, and accept their feelings as we help them learn to live within those limits. Weekly Nature Walk is unique at Greentree, children are encouraged to learn from the natural environment and care for their living environment.

Foster Language Arts

We recognized the importance in the early "formative" years for absorbing language. Positive communication skills and listening skill are fostered in our classroom. Children are free to express themselves and construct their own meaning about the world around him/ her. With the guidance of Montessori's "sensitive period" for writing and reading, children are encouraged to practice precise usage of language, both in English and Chinese language. This is the period where children are exposed to the Enrichment of vocabulary, variety of Language training which involve phonic, story, poem, nursery rhythm, I spy game, etc.
